Weaving together inspiring success and struggle stories is what this new startup is all about, and it’s already creating ripples in the region.
Neha Choudhary – founder of the local venture Making Waves, has already gathered nearly 7,500 followers and 500 subscribers after the company’s launch in June 2016.
By collating a series of videos on upcoming and established entrepreneurs, Making Waves has invested in talent empowerment and local entrepreneurship, offering them a platform to market themselves to a serious audience while inspiring the rest.
Capturing the mobile video market, Making Waves creates and uploads one free video about local businesses and their owners which could be used by them for marketing purposes but any new video production thereafter, will involve a charge. It’s a straightforward business model with powerful potential for advertising and growth.
Having worked at J.P Morgan in Singapore, Neha brought forth her financial knowledge and business capabilities along with her entrepreneurship spirit to her venture. Her advice for newbies planning to make a head start into the world of business is to discuss, share and operate from a place of passion rather than from fear – fear of someone stealing your ideas. Her second piece of advice is to avoid going for a business idea where the only goal is to make money, but instead choose passion with the intent of solving a practical problem. Last but not the least, she advises startup entrepreneurs to be patient, as owning your own business may seem glamorous to others, but the initial journey is quite lonely.
An initiative of sorts, this young and buzzing entrepreneur is definitely making waves!
